Terms of Service
Last updated November 2, 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to everyone who uses Cabindar, including members who have been invited to a cabin. You accept them when you create an account. If you start a subscription, the sections on subscriptions and payment apply to you as well. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
Cabindar is provided by Ositos AS, a company registered in Norway (organization number 928 535 282), Vegårveien 30, 4879 Grimstad, Norway. In these terms, “we” and “us” means Ositos AS, and “you” means you as a user.
2. The service
Cabindar is an online service for cabins shared by several people. It has a shared booking calendar, a grocery list and to-dos. A subscription covers one cabin, and every member of the cabin uses it at no extra cost. With an active subscription, admins can invite new members.
3. Your account
- Use your own email address and your own name. An account is for one person.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Keep your password secret. If you think someone else knows it, change it.
- You can delete your account at any time on your profile page.
4. Cabins and roles
Whoever creates a cabin becomes its owner. The owner and the admins can invite new members, change roles and remove members. Members can book, add to the lists and see what the others add. Admins are responsible for who they invite. Only invite people who want to be part of the cabin.
If the owner leaves the cabin or deletes their account, the admin who has been a member the longest takes over. If there are no admins, the member who has been there the longest takes over. If nobody is left, the cabin is deleted with everything in it.
If an admin asks us to become the owner, we contact the owner by email. If the owner doesn’t answer within 30 days, we may make the admin the owner. We let the owner know by email both before and after. The previous owner stays on as an admin.
5. What you add
What you add to Cabindar, such as bookings and items on the lists, is yours. We only use it to provide the service. The members of a cabin can see what you add there.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use Cabindar to
- add content that is illegal or that violates the rights of others
- send invitations to people who don’t want them, or use invitations for advertising
- try to access cabins, accounts or data you don’t have the right to, or get around security
- use someone else’s account, or let others use yours
- put a load on the service that makes it worse for others, for example with automated requests
If you break these terms, we may suspend your account. We tell you why by email, and you can reply before we decide whether the suspension stands. For serious misuse, such as trying to get into other people’s cabins, we suspend first and let you know afterwards. Your cabins and what you have added stay in place while the account is suspended, and the other members keep their access. If we suspend an account without the terms having been broken, we refund what you have paid for the rest of the period.
7. Price and free trial
The subscription costs $39 per year per cabin, in US dollars. Sales tax is added at checkout where it applies. There are no other fees.
The first time a cabin starts a subscription, the first 30 days are free. You are charged when the trial ends. If you cancel before then, you pay nothing. Each cabin gets the free trial only once.
8. Payment and automatic renewal
The subscription renews automatically every year, and your card is charged $39 plus any sales tax on the same date each year until you cancel. Payment is handled by Stripe. You enter your card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on Stripe’s payment page, and we never see your card details. You can see the next charge on the subscription page in Cabindar, and change your card and see receipts under “Manage subscription”. We send you a reminder by email before each yearly renewal. If a charge fails, we try again a few times over the next days, and may stop the subscription if it keeps failing.
9. Cancellation and refunds
There is no commitment. You can cancel at any time under “Manage subscription” on the subscription page in Cabindar. The subscription then lasts until the end of the period you have paid for, or the end of the free trial, and you won’t be charged again.
If you cancel within 14 days after a charge, write to support@cabindar.com and we will refund that charge in full. After that, we don’t refund the rest of a period you have paid for, unless the law requires it or these terms say so. When the subscription ends, the cabin and everything in it stay in place. Members can still use the calendar and the lists, but you can’t invite new members until you start the subscription again.
10. Changes to the price or the service
If we change the price, we email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you. If you don’t want to pay the new price, you can cancel before the next charge.
We keep developing Cabindar and may change, add or remove features. If a change makes the service significantly worse for you, we let you know by email in good time, and you can cancel and get back what you have paid for the rest of the period. If we shut down Cabindar, we let you know by email at least 60 days in advance and refund what you have paid for the rest of the period.
11. If something doesn’t work
If the service doesn’t work as described, or you can’t access it, write to support@cabindar.com and describe what’s wrong. We fix errors as quickly as we can. If we can’t fix a significant error within a reasonable time, you can cancel and get back what you have paid for the rest of the period.
12. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep Cabindar available, but we can’t promise it will never be down, for example during maintenance or because of problems at our suppliers. The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under laws that can’t be waived.
13. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time. What happens to your cabins and the subscription is described in the Privacy Policy and in section 9.
14. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We email you about significant changes at least 30 days before they apply to you. The date at the top shows when the terms were last changed.
15. Contact and governing law
Questions and complaints go to support@cabindar.com. We try to resolve disagreements informally first. These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, except where the laws of the state you live in give you protections that can’t be waived.
